Dear reader,
I hold a degree in Biology, a Master’s in Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation, and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and Biodiversity from UFMT – Federal University of Mato Grosso (Brazil). In my doctoral thesis, I focused on Medicinal Plant Bioprospecting, researching species traditionally used by ancient cultures as remedies for various health issues.
I have worked as a professor at UFMT, Fasipe, and in postgraduate courses at CPAF. Currently, I am an Associate Researcher at ICNHS (Institute of Natural, Human, and Social Sciences at UFMT).
I have also been involved in managing scientific research projects in partnerships between the Federal University and the private sector, through ABAM (Biodiversity Collection of the Southern Amazon) and LIT (Laboratory of Tropical Ichthyology).
My interest in plants and the knowledge people have about them began in 2005 when I had the privilege and honor of meeting Prof. Dr. Germano Guarim Neto (pictured on the right), who later became both my advisor and a great friend.
Since then, I have dedicated myself to studying the traditional uses of plants and correlating that knowledge with scientific research that validates their healing properties.
